It’s that time of year again. The winter’s over, the sun has come, and everyone’s looking for something to do. The Philadelphia Orchestra has exciting things going on at the end of June. On June 30th Yo-Yo Ma returns, on July 1st you’ll be able to see La Boheme, and on July 2nd they’re playing a night of Mozart. Get tickets early because these ones will sell out fast.
Throughout July you can watch John Mellencamp, Ani DiFranco, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss -- all in the first half of the month alone! Later on in the summer you can see Hippie Fest, Sheryl Crow, the Gypsy Kings, and Julie Andrews. Round out the summer with George Thorogood and Ben Folds in August.
Film lovers will want to check out the Rehoboth Film Festival. The Rehoboth Film Society has an amazing story to tell -- how a small town in a resort area could produce an internationally acclaimed film festival loved by the masses. will love the tenth annual Irish American Festival on June 22nd.
Sure to be fun for the whole family, you can check out well known Irish bands
and musical groups, bagpipers, Irish dancing, face painting, and tons of
entertainment for the kids. Dance schools from the local area will be showing
off their dancing skills in contests and exhibitions. When you’ve danced up a
hunger, Finnigan’s Wake’s kitchen will be serving up plenty of Irish favorites
to snack on and vendors will be selling Irish crafts. The gates open at noon
and admission is free.
