The Philadelphia Marathon
Why not take a day off from driving your Toyota around Philadelphia this year and watch, or participate, in the Philadelphia Marathon?
The Philadelphia Marathon is one of the most notable historic foot races in the entire country. The marathon includes mostly flat terrain, and goes right past some of Philadelphia’s best known and most well-loved landmarks.
The Philadelphia Marathon starts at Eakins Oval, at the fitness and sports expos. Here, you can pick up your running gear and register for the race.
Along the way of the Philadelphia Marathon, you can see the Liberty Bell, the house of Besty Ross, as well as Independence Hall. The marathon runs through the quaint streets of the old city, right on the Delaware river. It ends near the Fairmount Water Works, which has recently been restored.
The Philadelphia Marathon has something for everyone. Even the kids can join in the Verizon Kids Fun Run. This is a series of races for kids aged 4 to 12, and is designed to be non-competitive. There are prizes for participants, and it’s a great way to introduce your youngster to the sport of running.
Even if you’re just watching the race, there’s plenty to see. There are a number of food and music “Express Zones” along the route. At the end of the race, there is plenty to do, too, including enjoying an evening out for a gourmet meal, or just listening to some live music.
No matter whether you're a spectator or a participant, there's no better place to take your Toyota this November than to the Philadelphia Marathon.
